Cusco | Pisaq - Ollantaytambo - Chinchero
The tour begins with the pick up from your hotel by a representative. On your tour to the Sacred Valley of the Incas, you will observe a panoramic view of the Inca citadel of Pisac and its typical market, where we will have the opportunity to learn about the customs of its inhabitants.
Visit the archaeological complex of Pisac "Ciudad Perdiz" and its typical traditional market where you will have the opportunity to learn about their customs, forms of trade and crafts of the villagers.
Then we head to the city of Urubamba, traveling along the banks of the river Wilcamayu "Sacred River of the Incas" where you can enjoy a delicious lunch based on the products of the area.
Then we head to the living museum city of Ollantaytambo, the only place that preserves its ancient Inca urban design. Then we visit the Ollantaytambo Citadel. At the end we visit the archaeological monument of Chinchero. Finally, you are transferred back to your hotel.
Attractions:
Pisac Archaeological Park: The archaeological complex of Pisac, is located on top of a mountain, from where you can see a good part of the sacred valley of the Incas. This wonderful place is formed by groups of terraces and architectural structures scattered on the slopes and on top of the mountain, Pisac is one of the most beautiful monumental centers of the valley because it combines the landscape with the impeccable finish of its buildings.
Pisac market: Located 30 km from the city of Cusco, the main square of Pisac hosts this market, colorful and cheerful place, where the most famous Cusco handicrafts made by Andean hands are exhibited, among the crafts, outstanding textile pieces, ponchos bags, etc., and ceramic crafts, which are reproductions of Inca archaeological pieces, such as queros (ceremonial vessels), necklaces, etc.. This fair is attended by merchants and indigenous artisans from many villages, dressed in their typical costumes.
Ollantaytambo Archaeological Park: After our lunch in a local restaurant in the town of Urubamba. In the afternoon we visit the Fortress and Citadel of Ollantaytambo, it was built to guard the entrance to this part of the valley and protect it from possible invasions of the inhabitants of the jungle. We will have the opportunity to walk through the streets of the town and get a clear idea of what this military, religious and cultural center was like during the Inca Empire.
Chinchero: On the way back to Cusco we will visit the picturesque village of Chinchero, where the remains of the royal hacienda of Tupac Inca Yupanqui are located. You will admire its well-preserved Inca Wall in the main square and visit the beautiful colonial temple with interesting frescoes in the portico, built on the foundations of an Inca building.
