Treasures Of The Andes Cusco Puno La Paz And Uyuni Salt Flat

Arrival to the city of Cusco, reception and transfer to the selected hotel, welcome coca tea and rest of the morning free to acclimatize to the altitude of 3,350 meters above sea level. Approx.

Between 13:20 and 13:45 hrs. We begin our visit in the city of Puma Cusco: On the tour we will observe impressive buildings on Inca foundations; we visit the Cathedral of Cusco, of Renaissance structure and with fine paintings of the "Cuzco School", and the Temple of the Sun or Koricancha.

Then we continue with the visit to the four archaeological centers around Cusco: Sacsayhuaman (great fortress), Qenqo (sacred amphitheater, center of worship to the god Puma), Pucapukara ("red fortress") and Tambomachay (temple to worship the water).

In the morning we will head to Pisaq, where we visit the archaeological complex of Pisac and also visit its Typical Artisan Market, then We continue our journey along the edge of the Vilcanota River, until we arrive to Urubamba, where we will have an exquisite Buffet Lunch.

Then we head to visit Ollantaytambo, one of the last living Inca villages and still maintain its streets of the Inca era.

Then we continue to Aguas Calientes by train, one of the most spectacular in the world. The railroad line follows the Urubamba River through the spectacular Vilcanota Canyon.

In the morning we go to the bus stop where we board one of the first buses to Machu-Picchu (approx. 30 min. trip to Machu-Picchu).

If we leave very early, we will have the possibility to appreciate the sunrise in Machu Picchu (highly recommended and according to weather conditions) and we will have a guided tour in the Inca citadel for approximately 2 hours and a half.

After the guided tour we will have free time to walk around, take pictures and enjoy Machu Picchu to the fullest, then you will have to take the bus down to Aguas Calientes for lunch and then take the train back to Ollantaytambo or Poroy.

We leave Cusco to make the 2.5 hour trip to the town of Mollepata, where we will enjoy our typical breakfast of the area.

Then we board our transport again to go to Soraypampa, where we start our hike to the Turquoise Lagoon of Humantay.

In Soraypamapa we start our hike to Humantay lagoon, our ascent has an average duration of 1.5 hours to reach our destination.

Arriving at this beautiful picturesque lagoon of Humantay, we will have all the necessary time to enjoy the natural beauty that surrounds it and also fill us with the energy that has this beautiful mountain of Salkantay.

Our guide will tell us the history of this sacred lagoon, he will also carry out a demonstration of the use of the coca leaf and a small offering to our Apus (Mountains) that allowed us to arrive.

After this beautiful adventure we return by the same route to Soraypampa, to return to Mollepata to enjoy our lunch and then return to Cusco.

We leave Cusco and in a 2 hour trip we arrive to enjoy our breakfast. Then we continue in our transport to the checkpoint, where we begin our hike along the trail. As we advance we will be able to appreciate spectacular landscapes, surrounded by mountains and we will also be able to observe South American Auquenidos.

After 1.5 hours of trekking we arrive at the viewpoint of the mountain, at 5020 m/16.466 ft, and we will see the Rainbow Mountain or Vinicunca in all its splendor, if the weather permits.

In the Colored Mountain of Winicunca or Vinicunca, our guide will explain us about the orography, ecosystem and the reason for the colors of the mountain, and we will also take pictures.

Then we return optionally by the viewpoint of the Red Valley, Red Mountains, walk on this ecosystem considered Andean desert. From there we can have a last view of the 7-color mountain or Vinicunca or return by the same route of ascent.

From the point where we started with the hike, we take our transportation to go to the restaurant for our delicious buffet lunch Novo Andina.

Pick up from the Terminal to go to the port of Puno and then travel by boat to the floating islands of the Uros, the most beautiful artificial islands of Lake Titicaca. Here we will appreciate a group of small islands inhabited by descendants of one of the oldest cultures of America. Built of totora reeds, we will appreciate the way of life of the local people, whose main activity is hunting, fishing and handicrafts. Continuing with our boat tour, we head to Taquile (Approximate travel time 2 ½ hours).

Upon arrival you will climb the hill and visit the most important places of the island. Even if the sky is clear you will be able to see the volcanoes located on the Bolivian coasts. They are characterized by their fine craftsmanship; that is why in 2005 UNESCO declared this island: Masterpiece of Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity.

We depart from the city of Puno to the sanctuary of Copacabana.

We arrive at noon to Copacabana where we have lunch, then we board a boat with the guide to the Isla del Sol, where we visit the following places: The stairs of Yumani, agricultural terraces, fountain of the Inca, Pilkokaina palace, etc.. Then we return to Copacabana to visit the sanctuary of the virgin of Copacabana and board the transport to the city of La Paz.

Pick up from your hotel to start the excursion to the viewpoint of Killi Killi where we can take impressive pictures of the city. Then we visit the historic center of the city of La Paz, the Plaza Murillo, Executive Palace, Legislative Palace, the Metropolitan Cathedral. Heading to the amazing Valley of the Moon, you will see the replica of the semi-subterranean temple of Tiwanaku that is in front of the stadium of the city.

Arriving at the Valley of the Moon we observe amazing geological formations of clay created by the erosion of the winds and heavy rains that create an attractive lunar landscape. From there we return to the city center to board the cable car and enjoy a beautiful panorama of the city of La Paz, in one of the most picturesque means of urban aerial cable transport that will allow us to find the secrets of the city from the air, as well as admire the snow-capped mountain of Illimani. Then we continue the tour to the Witches Market, a place full of traditions and objects to perform Andean ancestral rituals, a craft market where you can feel the heartbeat of this charming city. The tour ends at the Church of San Francisco, a majestic colonial church of Mestizo Baroque style.

Discovering the magical Salar de Uyuni!

In the morning we pick you up at the bus terminal or at the Uyuni Airport, transfer to the town of Uyuni and from there you have free time to enjoy your breakfast on your own.

We begin the tour with a trip that takes us back to the beginnings of the founding of the "City of Uyuni" through a visit to the Cemetery of Trains, where we can retrace the history.

Later, we will go to the community of Colchani where we will be able to appreciate handicrafts made in salt and typical material of the high Andean region, in the same way we will be able to appreciate the processing of the salt, in this way in a conditioned space we will taste our lunch..

Then, through a rustic road we enter the majestic Salar de Uyuni where we recommend to prepare the cameras for this spectacle, we will arrive in this way to the Salt Museum, which by its characteristics is considered the first construction of its kind, made with salt breads and straw typical of the region.

Then we head to the heart of the salt flat, the Incahuasi Island and through a trail we can appreciate the typical flora of the region, we also enjoy the grandeur of the salt flat.

Later, after leaving behind the island through a journey of several kilometers, we will go to the town of Coqueza at the foot of the Tunupa volcano, where we will have free time to wait for the sunset and have a show of colors, an unforgettable sunset with excellent views, dinner, overnight at the foot of Tunupa.

The adventure continues in Uyuni!

We begin our adventure making a tour of ascent to the Tunupa Volcano in the 4 * 4 vehicle to visit the Mummies of Coqueza and the viewpoint of the Thunupa Volcano, with an unbeatable view of the salt lake and its islands, from there we return to the lodge in Coqueza to enjoy our lunch.

We continue the tour on a short trip to the town of Chantani on the shores of the salt flat, where we visit the Museum of the Cantaros, a place that brings together objects of culture and tradition of the high Andean region.

Finally, on our way back, we will enter the world's largest salt flat again, where we will make our last stop at the Ojos de Sal, where we can enjoy the last minutes in the salt flat.

Our adventure ends after crossing the town of Colchani towards the city of Uyuni.

Nota: We have two options for the return trip to the city of La Paz: either to travel by land at night (20:00 - 6:00 hours) or to sleep in Uyuni and the next day take the flight to La Paz.
