Itinerary

We leave Cusco to head to Calca, where we stop for breakfast. From there we continue our trekking until we pass the "Abra de Hualcapunku" (4300 masl / 14,107 ft). From there we will have beautiful views of the Ausangate mountain, which is the highest mountain in the Cusco region (6,370 masl / 20,898 ft.). Then we continue our hike until we reach the hot springs of Lares, where we will enjoy its thermo-medicinal waters. Then we enjoy our lunch to continue our hike to our first campsite.

  • Camp: Huacahuasi (3,800 msnm / 12,467 pies).
  • Time: 6 Horas Aprox. De Caminata.
  • Meals: Almuerzo, Cena.
  • Schedule: 06:00 - 18:00 Hours.
  • Difficulty: Moderate.

In the morning, we enjoy our breakfast to begin our second day adventure, we hike up to "Abra de Ipsaycocha" with beautiful views of the Vilcanota mountain range. Then, we descend to the Ipsaycocha lagoon observing the Patacancha valley.

  • Camp: Patacancha.
  • Time: 8 Horas Aprox. De Caminata, 14 km.
  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
  • Difficulty: Moderate.

First we have breakfast to continue our hike and from this point, we will cross agricultural terraces through the community of Willoq; We will stop for lunch in the town of Ollantaytambo. After a rest, we will take the train to make our trip to "Aguas Calientes".

After settling into a hotel, you can enjoy the hot springs if you have time before your dinner.

  • Time: 7 Approx. walking time, 14 km.
  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
  • Difficulty: Moderate - Low.

After our breakfast at the hotel, we take the bus at 5:30 am or according to the entrance schedule to Machu Picchu and make a 25 minute trip to the citadel of Machu Picchu, where we will have a guided tour for approximately 2 hours, then you will have free time to visit and enjoy on your own. Then, we will return to the town of "Aguas Calientes", to have lunch and then take our train back to Ollantaytambo and then to Cusco.

If you chose to do the excursion to Huayna Picchu Mountain or Machu Picchu Mountain, you will enter in the second shift at 10:00 am.
