Live an unforgettable experience in Chichubamba, located a few minutes from the city of Urubamba, where you can enjoy, learn, explore and participate in the activities of the daily life of the local inhabitants along with the wonderful climate of the sacred valley of the Incas.

On a tour of the different houses and in each one of them with different activities such as: raising cuyes, agriculture, beekeeping, making Chicha de Jora, Chocolatería, coffee and ceramics. Then you can taste a delicious Andean lunch surrounded by nature.

Itinerary

In the morning we will pick you up from your hotel and drive to the province of Urubamba, which is located 67 km northeast of the city of Cusco.

On the way we will be able to observe the beautiful panorama, which is adorned with crops, mountains, snow-capped mountains, flora and fauna, as well as the picturesque villages that are located near the area.

Once we are in Urubamba, we will go to Chichubamba, to enjoy its delicious climate and fertile lands, which help in the cultivation of organic products native to the area, so it is said that Urubamba is the main supplier of main products for human consumption in the region of Cusco.

Once we arrive at the place, the villagers will welcome us warmly and we can start with the development of the activities that we will learn during the course of the day. You cannot miss any of these activities, because they are really interesting.

Once we have finished with the different activities, we will have lunch with a traditional menu prepared by the villagers with natural products of the area.

To finish with the Agrotourism Tour, Urubamba, we will wait for our transportation, which will pick you up and take you to your hotel; meanwhile, we will take the opportunity to thank for the teachings of the day and say goodbye to the villagers.

Guinea pig breeding:

In Mr. Hugo's house we can learn and observe how is the care and breeding of guinea pigs (native animal of Peru), due to its nutritious and healthy meat was consumed by the Incas and to this day is consumed on holidays and important dates. After this wonderful experience we will be able to enjoy the bio garden that is in the back, which has a variety of plants.

Agriculture:

Together with Mrs. Emilia we will be able to walk through her land and observe the process and handling of natural, ancestral and medicinal plants, each person will be able to collect medicinal plants in a basket and then be able to consume each one of them in mates and taste the different flavors and properties of each one.

Elaboration of Chica de jora:

In the house of Mrs. Cecilia or Leonora we will be able to participate in the process and elaboration of the Chica de jora, the drink of the Incas, in Inca times it was used as a sacred drink with which they thanked the Pachamama (mother earth) and until today it is consumed by the inhabitants in the traditional Chicherías after a job. We will also be able to observe the different types of corn that are used for the preparation of Chicha and you can participate in the preparation of the Frutillada, finally we will be able to taste a delicious glass of Chicha or Frutillada.

Elaboration of chocolate and coffee:

Together with Regina and Monica we will participate in the making of homemade chocolate. We will learn where the seed comes from and how the homemade chocolate is made with the selected cocoa beans and each participant will be able to make a chocolate mold, in the same way we will be able to participate in the elaboration of coffee and at the end we will taste a fresh cup of black coffee.

Beekeeping:

In Mr. Prudencio's house we will find his peculiar bees and together with them we will live one of the sweetest and most dangerous experiences of the tour, where he will face his own fears, he will teach us about bee breeding, their care and how to extract the honey from the diapers. At the end we will be able to taste the nectar of fresh honey.

Ceramics:

In Mrs. Alcine's workshop we will be able to relax and separate ourselves for a moment from the world to dedicate ourselves to making our work of art in ceramics and de-stress by painting everything that comes out of our feelings. At the end we will be able to take a piece of art made with our own hands as a souvenir and we will also be able to see the collection of pieces exhibited in the same workshop.
