The charm of Ancascocha

Ancascocha Trek to Machu Picchu
5 days

The Ancasqocha trek is one of the best trails in the world according to National Geographic and a new alternative hiking route to Machu Picchu. Located in the eastern mountain range of Vilcabamba in the Peruvian Andes, it also gives us the opportunity to hike a section of the classic Inca Trail that leads to the archaeological wonder of the Inca site of Machu Picchu.

This trail that leads us through Ancascocha to Machu Picchu is perfect and highly recommended for adventurers who love to live unique experiences in little traveled places, where they will have the opportunity to see local populations such as Soqma and Ancascocha, surrounded by beautiful landscapes, not forgetting that through the hike we will have stunning views of lagoons and the snow-capped peaks of the Vilcanota mountain range.

As for the fauna we will be able to appreciate the Andean fox, the Andean condor, deer and partridges. Our campsites are in picturesque places from where we have breathtaking views and according to the season many stars at night.
